Cutco Knives: How many years have you had yours?

Nancy tells about her Cutco conversion 20 years ago and her friends 50 years ago! Personally I bought my first Cutco knives set 15 years ago and got the complete set 7 years ago.
“I too finally have a decent set of knives. For years after I got married we had any old knife. What a difference when I purchased my Cutco 20 years ago. As far as their sharpening service, it is great. Pack them up, send them out and they are returned to you in a few days sharpened and polished, looking like new. The only charge you have is a bill that covers shipping. I think it is a fabulous deal and return mine about every 6 mos. Of course I am not a chef so they are not used escessively. The 12 steak knives are absolutely the best thing that ever happened. They are expensive to be sure but as the saying goes, “You get what you pay for” and I did. My friend has had her set since she got married 50 years ago and she still loves them. Of course they were only $150.00 at the time! Nancy W.” www.chowhound.com taffyl3 Jan 21, 2008 08:21AM

  1. I have had my cutco knife set, utensils, etc for approximately 45 years. I still love them today and would not do without them. I recently sent them for sharpening (1st time) and could not believe it…like new. Personally, I do not like the new style of handles nearly as well as the old style. The old ones were safer to handle and prettier, too. The handle change was not progress.

  2. I purchased the complete set of Cutco knives and kitchen utensils 50 years ago when I had just graduated high school when a good looking young salesman made his sales pitch. I still use them to this date. They have served me well and I have never had a complaint.
